FORT FAIRFIELD, Maine — The 13th annual Girls “County” Basketball Shootout will be held Friday, June 29, and Saturday, June 30.
Sponsored by Pepsi Bottling Group, the tournament is limited to the first 16 Class C and D high school girls teams that register. Each team plays a minimum of four games and a maximum of six, with first- and second-place teams in each of the four pools moving on to the playoff round.
A consolation playoff between the third- and fourth-place teams will also be held. The entry fee is $150, which helps cover the cost of board officials and awards.
Each player receives a tourney T-shirt and the winning team will be presented a trophy and individual awards for all members. An all-tourney team will be selected and a 3-point shootout will be held at halftime of each game, with awards presented to the winner and runner-up.
