AUGUSTA, Maine — Jack Bonville will wear the University of Maine at Augusta Moose basketball uniform next season as he has committed to the school for the 2018-2019 season.
Bonville, a 2018 graduate of Presque Isle High School, was part of the Wildcats’ athletic program for four years, competing in both basketball and soccer. He also played AAU basketball for Black Bear North, a club based in the Bangor area.
“I decided upon UMA because Coach [Jim] Ford had reached out to me about playing basketball and I thought it was a good fit to continue playing beyond high school,” Bonville said in a press release issued by UMA.
“UMA also has a great business program available which made the decision even easier. I visited the campus in the spring time and it was a very good environment with some great people,” he added. “I got in touch with some of my teammates and I’m looking forward to playing with them and I’m excited to play under Coach Ford.”
Ford is excited that Bonville will be joining the Moose next season.
“His speed and athleticism will be a boost to our defensive play and scoring in transition,” Ford said.
