Tops Houlton Chapter met Friday, June 22. There were nine TOPS and four KOPS members present.
The loser of the week was Denise Clark and the runner-up was Marsha Reed. Good job, ladies. Pam Richardson won the 50/50 and Diane Folsom won the skinny dish. The healthy choices basket was won by Cheryl Driscoll. Thank you all for your healthy choices for our incentive basket.
We had our yearly visit from Janice Coty, our area captain. We always look forward to her programs. This year she spoke about the importance of giving support for each one of us during our TOPS journey. No matter the “Aha” moment for joining TOPS or the issues that come up each week, that support is so important. We can get enough negative attitudes each day, so here at our meetings the mood must be and is upbuilding.
Whether it was weight loss surgery or bullying or even our own frustrations, all of us should have the recognition for striving each week to do better.
At our meetings, we hear encouragement “You’ll do better next week” or ‘“Good job.” The different roads we took got us where we are today. And helping each other will help us on the track to better health, better nutrition and better us.
And as Janice pointed out from her TOPS program, we are the “hero of our own story.” How our personal story ends is still in the future, but we all have high hopes. Thank you, Janice.
If any of you have a personal story going or maybe you have a question, call me, Pam Richardson, at 538-8760 or email me at prludlow@outlook.com.
We welcome all to our encouraging TOPS meetings.
