The Mars Hill Rotary Club met on Tuesday, July 3, at 6:30 a.m. at the Aroostook Health Center.
The guest speaker was Presque Isle Rotarian Paul Howlett, Pastor of the Freedom Church in Presque Isle, located at the Aroostook Centre Mall. The church holds many special events to bring hope to The County. Their mission is “Inspiring Hope – Changing Lives.”
Howlett said he believes that the community can work together to make a difference in people’s lives.
The church has done trunk or treat, movies under the stars, an Easter Egg Hunt and more. They did a back-to-school blitz last year with backpacks filled with school supplies and plan on doing another next month with backpacks as well as haircuts and clothes for students.
The church is thinking outside the box in order to reach people in the community by giving them a hand up. Visit their Facebook page for more information.
