FORT FAIRFIELD, Maine — The Angus King for U.S. Senate campaign today announced that U.S. Sen. Angus King (I-Maine) will march in the 2018 Maine Potato Blossom Festival Parade in Fort Fairfield on Saturday, July 21. The parade celebrates Maine potato farmers and the rich heritage of potato farming in Aroostook County.
The parade will begin at 1 p.m.
According to a press release from King’s office, throughout his time in public office, Senator King has been strong supporter of Maine potato farmers and the agricultural community throughout Maine.
In 2014, the Maine Farm Bureau, along with the American Farm Bureau Federation, awarded the Senator with the 2014 Friend of the Farm Bureau Award. This award recognized Senator King’s continued work on behalf of Maine farmers and their families.
The Maine Potato Blossom Festival Parade has historically been one of the state’s largest parades.
