HOULTON, Maine — The town of Houlton is sponsoring a Doubles Tennis Tournament on Aug. 3-5 at the Houlton Community Tennis Courts. The recreation department encourages novice and season players to join them for this tennis tournament.
The age range will be from youth going into grades seven to adults. The department will be accepting men, women or mixed double teams. Registration is required by Monday, July 30 by calling the Houlton Recreation Department at 532-1310. Please leave your name, team name, phone number, grade/age, and email.
The entrance fee for the tournament will be a can of tennis balls. Once the registrations are completed, a tournament bracket will be made up and posted on the Houlton Recreation Center’s front door on Aug. 2 and emailed to participants.
“The recreation department is excited to sponsor this tournament and are in hopes of getting more individuals playing tennis this summer,” said Marie Carmichael, recreation director.
