PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — The University of Maine Cooperative Extension will host its Agricultural Field Day Wednesday, Aug. 8, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at UMaine’s Aroostook Research Farm in Presque Isle.
Open to all agricultural providers, the event will feature presentations on potato cultivation and varieties, nutrient management for growth and yield, foliar late blight control, and the potential role of pests in Dickeya transmission.
Presenters will include Sukhwinder Bali and Lakesh Sharma, Extension assistant professors of sustainable agriculture at the University of Maine at Presque Isle; UMaine assistant professor of plant pathology Jay Hao, UMaine professor of entomology Andrei Alyokhin, and UMaine professor of agronomy Gregory Porter.
The event is free; lunch will be provided. No registration is required.
