PRESQUE ISLE, Maine – Arleine Legassie, 87, passed away unexpectedly at Squa Pan Lake on Sunday, July 22, 2018. She was born on March 17, 1931, in Ashland, the daughter of Freeman and Belle (Carney) Marquis.
She was a faithful communicant of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, and served as a Eucharistic minister for many years. Arleine was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a great mother and great cook. Arleine loved to fish, pick berries, go camping, and travel.
She is survived by four sons, Dennis and Floyd Legassie of Presque Isle, Raynold Legassie Jr. of Mapleton, and Randy Legassie and his wife, Debra, of Bangor; eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Raynold Legassie Sr., two daughters, Gail Marie Legassie and Angela Brooks, a brother, Milton, and two sisters, Mildred Collins and Hilda Pendola.
Friends may call at 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 26, 2018, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Parish of the Precious Blood, where a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Interment will be at North Main Street Catholic Cemetery. Online condolences may be shared at www.duncan-graves.com
