Cody Halvorson of Easton will resume his athletic career as a member of the Husson Eagles men’s soccer team.
Husson coach Gavin Penny said Halvorson is one of 10 incoming students who are part of his recruiting class.
Halvorson, who played soccer for coach Ryan Shaw at Easton High School, finished his career with 47 goals and 68 assists. He was an Aroostook League and Maine Soccer Coaches regional all-star and received the Butch Shaw Sportsmanship Award his senior year. He also played basketball at Easton.
Halvorson had attended Cedarville University in Ohio, but transferred to Husson during the spring semester. He will play defense for the Eagles.
“Cody has a lot of leadership about him and carries himself very well,” Penny said. “He will be an asset to this side with his character and encouragement.
“He proved in the spring tournament that he can compete with anyone and will work tirelessly to earn his spot in the lineup,” Penny added.
Halvorson is majoring in occupational therapy at Husson. The Eagles will open their season Aug. 31 at home against Wentworth Institute of Technology.
