PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — Make-A-Wish will host its annual Walk For Wishes on Saturday, Aug. 11, at 5:30 p.m. at the University of Maine at Presque Isle.
“We currently have over 100 children waiting to have their wish granted and the critical funds raised at these events help make it all happen,” said Rebekah Roy of Make-A-Wish Maine.
“In the past 25 years, Make-A-Wish Maine has been able to grant more than 1,400 wishes — 70 in the last year alone — for children with critical illnesses. These life-changing wishes are only possible through our Walk For Wishes fundraisers and the collective commitment to one goal: to grant the wish of every eligible child,” said Roy.
Registration for the local walk is free and organizers encourage fundraising. Walkers are asked to raise a minimum of $50 to receive an official T-shirt, but all participants are entered into the raffle for special prizes. All attendees will be entered into a drawing to win an Amazon Echo Dot and can enjoy a bounce house, face painting and free barbecue.
