BANGOR and PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — Emera Maine has announced that Chief Operating Officer Mike Herrin has also become the company’s president, effective July 1, 2018.
Herrin will remain as COO.
As president, Herrin said he plans to maintain a strong focus on achieving world-class safety while leveraging the skills of the utility’s 400 employees across northern and eastern Maine to provide excellent customer service.
“I look forward to continuing Emera Maine’s work to provide safe, reliable service that meets the evolving needs of our customers,” he said.
Herrin joined Emera Maine as COO in the summer of 2017 after more than 25 years with Tampa Electric. He held a variety of positions at the Florida utility over the years, working in marketing, sales, information technology, procurement and facilities services.
Before coming to Maine, Herrin was director of customer experience operations at TECO, successfully leading the implementation of the company’s new customer information and billing systems.
He holds a bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering from University of South Florida as well as a master of business administration degree from the University of Tampa.
He lives with his wife, Beth, in Bangor. Both have spent the last year enjoying the variety of experiences that Maine has to offer.
Herrin succeeds Alan Richardson, who has retired after more than 30 years of service at various Emera Inc. companies.
