The Easton boys bounced back from a home loss Friday with a 6-0 shutout victory over Ashland Monday in a match also played on their home field.
Bears’ coach Ryan Shaw was pleased with his team’s response to the 4-0 loss to Madawaska three days earlier.
“We worked on some adjustments [in practice] Saturday,” Shaw said. “We still made a few mistakes, but it was a big improvement and we looked good when we kept everything short and with pace, and sloppy when longer balls were played.”
In the victory, Seth Faloon scored two first-half goals, Isaac Currier knocked in a pair in the second half and Kooper Kinney provided a goal in each half.
Garrett Tilley saved 10 of 21 shots for 0-1 Ashland and Kody Carter turned away five of seven shots for the winners.
On Friday, Tristan Cyr netted all four goals in Madawaska’s win.
“Possession wise, I thought we played a decent game, but we failed to make some adjustments on the defensive end that ended up leading to breakaways that led to all of their goals,” Shaw said.
