PRESQUE ISLE, Maine – Constance E. ‘Connie’ Patterson, 93, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on August 18, 2018, at the Aroostook Medical Center in Presque Isle. She was born on December 16, 1924, in Presque Isle, the daughter of Gordon and Celia (Beaulieu) Laflin.
She was co-owner of Gus’s Market on Academy Street and in later years enjoyed spending mornings with Nan at Gus’s Daughters Grocery. She spent many evenings with her good friends Irene Crory and Mavis Czosnek, playing cards and sharing stories.
She is survived by two sons, David Patterson of Clearwater, FL, and Joseph Patterson and his wife, Mariah, of Winthrop; a daughter, Nan Carmichael and her husband, Barry, of Presque Isle; two grandchildren whom she raised as her own children, Ariana Patterson and her husband, Don Theriault, of Manchester, and Hahna Patterson and his wife, Joanna, of Topsham; as well as her grandchildren, Debi Weeks, Stephen Patterson, Margaret Socakabasin Cote, Eric Patterson, Christopher Patterson, Amanda Patterson Young, Daniel Patterson, Kyle Patterson, Kassie Patterson, Branden Patterson, Kathryn Patterson, Matthew Patterson, Travis Willette, Caleb Ambrutis, Sarah Patterson, Cabot Lancaster, Madeline Patterson, Megan Patterson, Jacob Theriault, Hanna Patterson, Lydia Theriault, Amelia Theriault, Miriam Patterson, and Eamon Patterson. Connie also had many great and great-great-grandchildren that she adored and was so very proud of as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Alfred “Gus” Patterson, a daughter-in-law, Susan Patterson, two sons, Danny and Stephen Patterson, as well as a brother, William Laflin, and three sisters, Alice Irvine, Harriet Gilman, and Bonnie Laflin.
Relatives and friends may call at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, August 22, 2018, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Parish of the Precious Blood, where a funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Interment will be at North Main Street Catholic Cemetery.
