DAVID KNOX POND, HOULTON – David Knox Pond, 71, passed away on Tuesday, July 17, 2018, at a Bangor hospital. He was born on March 22, 1947, in Old Town, the son of Stanley and Lucinda (Tingley) Pond.
David attended Houlton Schools and joined the U.S. Army in 1964. He served two tours in Vietnam as a tunnel rat and was awarded the Bronze Star, Purple Heart, and many other medals and ribbons. Upon his discharge he returned to Maine. David was a past member of the VFW, American Legion Chester L. Briggs Post #47, and the United Veterans Motorcycle Club. He enjoyed photographing wildlife, and operating computers.
He is survived by his two children, and a brother. David was predeceased by his parents.
