HOULTON, Maine — The Natural Resources Conservation Service, an agency under the United States Department of Agriculture, will hold a public meeting Monday, Aug. 27, to discuss a project to replace the Moose Brook culvert on Morningstar Road in Houlton.
The meeting will be held at the Houlton Town Office, 21 Water St., beginning at 5 p.m. NRCS Fisheries Biologist Ben Naumann and NRCS District Conservationist Helena Swiatek will be present information on the proposed culvert replacement and answer questions about the project.
The work involves installation of a 50-foot prefabricated structure, along with relocation of an existing stream bed with new flood plains. The bridge will replace an existing corrugated metal pipe at the crossing.
