CARIBOU, Maine — Coach Steve Perreault’s Caribou Middle School boys’ soccer team lost its opening match of the season, played Aug. 20 in Madawaska.
The Owls’ size, speed and talent was too much for the Vikings as the hosts won by a score of 6-2. Madawaska scored less than a minute into the game and took a 3-0 lead into halftime. Caribou was able to get off only four shots on goal. Griffen McNeal scored an unassisted goal and Devin Wright converted off a Jude Shea assist to account for Caribou’s offense.
Dawson St. Pierre, Ty Hunter, Dylan Bouchard, Jaden Picard and Konnor Huckins were the standout offensive players for Caribou, while Eliot Sleeper, Cameron Belanger and Alex Levesque all turned in strong defensive outings.
