PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — Public works crews have finished reconstructing the sidewalk on State Street in Presque Isle, with repaving set to happen in September.
Public services director Dana Fowler said Friday that the work crews recently finished reconstruction of a roughly 1,100 foot-long section of sidewalk on State Street running from Third Street to Dudley Street.
Soderberg Construction, which is contracted for a variety of paving projects in Presque Isle this summer, will be paving the reconstructed sidewalk within the next two weeks, Fowler said.
The Public Works department considers sidewalk reconstruction projects based on their conditions, the amount of use they get and the department’s workload, he said.
