BRIAN PAUL DOESCHER, HOULTON AND FLORIDA – Brian Paul Doescher, 62, died unexpectedly in Florida on Wednesday, August 22, 2018. Brian was born on February 1, 1956 in Houlton, the son of J. Frederick Doescher and Virginia (Clay) Doescher.
Brian was a graduate of Houlton High School, Class of 1974 and Ricker Classical Institute, Class of 1978. After graduation, Brian began his career as the Store Manager at Brooks Drug Store in Houlton. He went on to work at Putnam Construction, Town N Country, the Tower Restaurant, Katahdin Forest Products, Cedar Ideas, and Natures Circle Farm before his retirement to Florida with his dog, Luke. Brian did some traveling and shared his adventures on Facebook with many followers. Brian was a very talented carpenter and spent his time with his woodworking projects. He also enjoyed playing cards and cooking for his many friends.
Brian is survived by his daughter Tiffany Butler, her husband Nicholas, and grandchildren Tyler and Eleanor of Orono; and his daughter Kristen Holshouser, her husband Sean, and his granddaughter Megan of North Yarmouth. He enjoyed spending time with his daughters and their families while vacationing back in Maine. He is also survived by two sisters, Nancy Hughes of Topsham and Debbie Dubois of Hollis, sister-in-law Lauri Doescher of Westfield, Indiana; nephews Ryan Doescher, Darren Bennett, and Cody Bennett; nieces Kimberly Arnold, Samantha Dubois, and Jessica Dubois. Also, his companion Luke, who will return to live out his days in Maine. In addition to his parents, Brian was predeceased by his brother Jay Doescher and his sister Anne Doescher.
Relatives and friends are welcome to call 12:00 PM Saturday, September 8, 2018, at Dunn Funeral Home, where a funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 PM with Deacon Al Burleigh officiating. Refreshments will immediately follow the service at Watson Hall in Houlton.
