HOULTON, Maine — Success continued for the Houlton golf team this past week as the Shires improved to 6-0 on the season with wins over Carlisle (Caribou-Presque Isle), Old Town and Penobscot Valley Aug. 30.
Houlton finished with a team best 172, while Carlisle was second at 203, Old Town third at 210 and Penobscot Valley at 278.
For Houlton, Duncan McCormack had the low score with a 41, followed by Collin Moody at 42; Nick Brewer, 44; Wyatt Harvey and Isaac Vega, both 45; Garrett Harvey, 50; and Rhetta Vega, 56.
Also on Aug. 30, Hodgdon lost to Central Aroostook 10.5-0.5. Low medalist was Will Durost from Central Aroostook with a 45. The low scorer for Hodgdon was Bryon Barton, shooting a 58.
