ISLAND FALLS, Maine — The very popular Red, White and Blue Founders Day Scramble is this Saturday. This four person event lets you select what tee markers you would like to play from, playing six holes from the red white and blue tees. The entry fee is $20 with optional closest to the pin available. Green Fees and cart rentals are not included in the entry fee. Put you team together and register in the Pro Shop.
Winners from couples golf this week were Jenness Gushee, Valerie Powers and Betty Smallwood with a 33 featuring an Eagle on No. 2 and a birdie on No. 5. In the second spot, one shot back, were Stuart Kelley, Bev Osborn, Ralph Powers and Peter Blood with birdies on No. 2 and No. 6. Still another stroke back with 35, featuring a birdie on No. 6 were Becky Kelley, Deb Porter and Greg Gayne.
Now that Labor Day has passed us by, don’t put your clubs away. This time of year is when conditions are best. That being said. The front nine holes will be closed Monday, Sept. 10 and the back nine close on the Sept. 11 for greens aeration.
The Slice Restaurant will start its new fall hours starting this weekend being open Saturday and Sunday from 11 to 8 and Wednesday through Friday from 4 to 8.
