HOULTON, Maine — Theriault Equipment, a John Deere dealership that sells both new and used tractors and lawn mowers, has closed the doors to its Houlton location after 12 years of service in the Shiretown.
The move came about suddenly as customers discovered Tuesday, Sept. 11, that the business was closed. Nortrax, a commercial John Deere equipment business that features construction and forestry equipment, which is located adjacent to Theriault Equipment is not impacted by the closure.
“After nearly 12 years of operation, our company’s Houlton location will be closing as of Tuesday, Sept. 11,” said Jesse Theriault regional manager for Theriault Equipment. “This location has served us well, and we want to assure all customers in the Houlton area that we will continue to provide the same excellent service you have come to rely on from Theriault Equipment.”
Consolidation of all equipment and personnel at the Houlton location to the Theriault Equipment location in Presque Isle has already taken place. The company has provided John Deere equipment to Aroostook County since 1958.
“We will do everything in our power to make this transition as seamless as possible,” Theriault said. “We wish to thank you for your continued business and appreciate your patience during this transition.”
Theriault added that the company would be sending letters to its Houlton customers in the coming weeks informing them of the options available. Parts and service of John Deere lawn mowers and tractors must now go through the Presque Isle store, located at 120 Caribou Road. For more information, call 764-4405.
