PORTLAND, Maine — The Sportsman’s Alliance of Maine, Institute for Legislative Action, awarded Janet Mills, state attorney general and Democratic nominee for governor, a grade of A- for her strong and longstanding support of sportsmen and women and Maine’s outdoor heritage.
Mills released the following statement in response:
“I was born and raised in rural, western Maine — and to this day, there’s nowhere I’d rather be than fly fishing on Temple Stream or kayaking out on Clearwater Lake. That history is why throughout my career I have fought to conserve Maine lands, enhance sporting opportunities, and protect our state’s strong tradition of outdoor recreation — and, if I am privileged to be elected governor, that’s what I will continue to do.”
