My oh my, what a great week for playing golf. The course was quiet without events this week, but if you came out to play it was your private course. And here’s something to get excited about. If you pay for your membership for 2019, you will get to play for the rest of 2018. And if you are not a member now, you receive the same offer as members. This is taking advantage of the best weather and course conditions for 2018. Call the proshop for more info at 532-2662.
Coming this weekend, we will be holding our very popular and extremely fun Cross Country Par 3 Scramble. It will be open to 18 four person teams and will be nine holes with a shotgun start at 1:30 p.m. It is going to be warm this weekend so get your team together and call the clubhouse to enter. Singles will be paired up from the list. Saturday, Sept. 22, will be the annual Elks Club Ryan Wright Memorial Scramble. Sign up at the clubhouse or the Elks Club.
The Ladies Association season-ending banquet will be held Tuesday Sept. 18, starting at 5:30 p.m. for social hour and served at 6 p.m. Call the clubhouse to sign up by Friday so we can get a dinner count. The Men’s Twilight League finals will be played Monday afternoon between Bill Dwyer and Ted Pettingil and the team of Jon Turner and Ray Mailman. Good luck gentlemen.
A heads up for players on this coming Saturday. Houlton High School will be hosting a four team match starting at noon. The 1st, 2nd, and 7th tees will be closed from noon to 1 p.m.
The Lakeside Restaurant is giving you some great entertainment on Sept. 28. The sounds and vocals of Paul LaPointe will provide 1960s, 70s, and 80s memories for you all. Call Nancy at 694-9494 to make reservations.
Get your clubs back out of the closet and get in a couple more rounds this week. Enjoy the course and the beauty of the changing season and I will see you on the course.
