ISLAND FALLS, Maine — Outdoor enthusiasts may notice a couple of new kiosk aimed at providing information on Pleasant Pond and Upper and Lower Mattawamkeag Lakes.
To ensure that boaters’ experiences are positive ones, the town of Island Falls and the Island Falls Lakes Association (IFLA) have partnered in installing informational kiosks at the boat launches of both lakes.
“Blessed with crystal clear water, and teeming with fish, these lakes are a haven for boaters and those who love to fish,” said Jen Cogliantry, IFLA board member.
The kiosks contain maps that identify areas hazardous to boating, descriptions of the lakes, principal fisheries, and programs sponsored by the IFLA. Numerous IFLA members, businesses and community members helped support the group’s mission and helped make the project a reality for the community.
