PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — AARP Maine will host a community conversation on health care Wednesday, Oct. 10, in Presque Isle.
The session is planned from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Mark and Emily Turner Memorial Library.
Local residents and community leaders can ask questions, share their concerns and offer ideas on health care issues at the forum, which will feature four panelists: Japhet Els of AARP Maine; Karin Howe, American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network; Tanya Sleeper, University of Maine at Fort Kent; and Joy Barresi Saucier, executive director of the Aroostook Area Agency on Aging.
Forum topics typically include (but are not limited to) Medicare and Medicaid, long-term care, rising prescription drug costs, access to care in rural areas, and the continuing debate in congress regarding healthcare.
Other sessions around the state this month include Machias, Bar Harbor and Lewiston, each with a different panel of local experts.
