To the editor:
I was just in Caribou for a six-week vacation, and I was shocked to see the condition of the River Road. I was brought up on the Davis Farm, or the River Road, and my family would be very disappointed in the town of Caribou. You need to think this situation over better.
All schools need to be great, but to take away Teague Park is horrible for the youth of Caribou. I went to your program honoring your new school, and I felt you should repair the schools and fix High Street and lots of others. I guess you want the school kids to play with Xboxes, computers and cell phones. No more ball field, ice rink, carnivals — poor children.
I know the population has dropped, but watch out — it might get worse. No activities for the children.
The letter that Richard L. Etscovitz wrote was very honest and I thank him for it.
