The fall soccer season has come to a close, but the work is not yet done for many squads as the postseason begins Friday.
The final Heal Point standings by the Maine Principals Association were revealed Thursday morning and brought good news to many squads as 24 Aroostook County teams have qualified for the playoffs this year in the northern region for Classes B, C and D.
In girls Class B North, Presque Isle (11-1-2, 168.6990 points) secured the No. 1 seed, while Caribou (7-4-3, 95.4082) is fifth. The Wildcats earn a pass to the quarterfinals, while Caribou will have to play a preliminary contest.

In girls Class C North, Houlton (11-1-2, 139.8214) is ranked second and Fort Kent (7-5-2, 122.8685) is third and both will skip the prelims and go directly into the quarterfinals.
In girls Class D North, Central Aroostook (13-0-1, 151.2265) is the top-ranked squad, followed by No. 2 Ashland (11-2-1, 144.4643), No. 4 Southern Aroostook (9-5, 91.9685); No. 5 Katahdin (9-5, 70.0898); No. 6 Madawaska (8-6, 69.3878), No. 8 Wisdom (7-6-1, 47.8033); and No. 10 Fort Fairfield (7-6-1, 46.1735). Teams from this region that did not make the playoffs this year are No. 13 Hodgdon (4-8-1, 31.2589); No. 14 Washburn (4-10, 17.9474); No. 15 MSSM (2-6-1, 17.3321); No. 16 Easton (1-12-1, 13.4439); and No. 17 Van Buren (2-12, 5.2041).
In boys Class B North, Caribou (12-1-1, 168.5969) earned the top seed, while Presque Isle (11-1-2, 161.2755) was second. Both earned byes into the quarterfinal round.
In boys Class C North, Fort Kent (11-2-1, 155.4904) is ranked No. 1 and Houlton (10-3-1, 123.2143) is third.
In boys Class D North, Central Aroostook (14-0, 137.81) is the top-ranked squad, followed by No. 4 Madawaska (8-5-1, 101.5051), No. 6 Wisdom (6-6, 6686893); No. 8 Easton (7-6-1, 56.3776); No. 9 MSSM (3-5-1, 55.3175); No. 10 Hodgdon (9-4, 53.0830); No. 11 Fort Fairfield (7-7, 52.0408); No. 13 Van Buren (5-7-2, 37.2477) and No. 14 Ashland (2-10-2, 24.2857). County teams not qualifying for the playoffs are No. 15 Katahdin (4-9-1, 24.1893); No. 16 Southern Aroostook (3-11, 19.8271) and No. 18 Washburn (1-13, 7.8061).
The following is a look at the playoff pairings for both the preliminary and quarterfinal rounds.The semifinals are slated for Friday and Saturday, Oct. 26-27, and regional finals are Wednesday, Oct. 31.
