To the editor:
Robert Saucier is running for Maine House District 147 in Presque Isle and he deserves your vote. Bob is an honest and hardworking man and his four years of service in the Legislature has proved he will work hard for the concerns of everyone in Aroostook County.
During his time in the Legislature Bob defended the interests of our veterans while serving with distinction on the Veterans and Legal Affairs Committee.
Bob also was a respected member of the Joint Standing Committee on Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry. There he provided valuable leadership and could always be counted on by Maine’s family farmers to advocate for a strong Maine agriculture.
I had the opportunity to work with Bob on the right-to-know GMO (genetically modified organisms) Labeling bill. He was a strong proponent of Maine’s second-in-the-nation GMO Labeling Law. Bob played a vital role in securing a strong majority of agriculture committee members to vote in favor of the pioneering bill. Soon after, with broad bipartisan support, the GMO bill co-sponsored by Bob became law.
We clearly need more legislators with Bob’s wisdom, experience and vision. His bipartisan approach and ability to reach across the aisle is just what we require in this era of divisive politics.
Please cast your vote for Robert Saucier for Maine House District 147 on Nov. 6.
