Caribou High School honors fall athletes

CARIBOU, Maine — Caribou High School held its fall sports awards night Oct. 29, with soccer players, golfers and cross country runners all honored for their participation.

Athletes named most valuable players in their respective sports were: Gabe Rand, varsity golf; Alex Ezzy, boys varsity soccer; Willow Whitten, girls varsity soccer; Dylan Marrero, boys varsity cross country; Michael Cyr, boys JV cross country; Abigail Wimmer and Ashley Violette, girls varsity cross country; and Carter Belanger, boys JV soccer.

Austin Findlen, Maren Moir, Parker Deprey, Monica McLaughlin and Ashley Violette all earned letter sweaters for either accumulating three varsity letters in two different sports or a total of seven varsity letters.

Coach Steve Thibodeau presented letters to the following members of the girls JV soccer team: Abbigail Allen, Lexie Barker, Jessica Leavitt, Mia Thibodeau, Lauren Craig, Kerigan Guerrette, Breanna Peter-Paul, Hannah Tarbox, Abbiegale McNeal, Kearstin Coty, Morgan Fuller, Cassidy Page, Naomi Cote, Ahlanda Engstrom Jones, Alexis Valenza, Hannah Beauchamp, Whitley Green and manager Amanda Poulin.

Coach Mark Shea presented awards to the following members of the girls varsity soccer team: letters: Macy Wakem, Erin Jandreau, Kimmy Susi, Alya Theriault, Emma Hixon, Gabbie Sutherland, Madison Zeigler, Riley McNeal, Taylor Devoe and managers Hollie McDougal, Paige Espling and Abby St. Peter; plaques: Sage Dubay, Brooke Moir, Edie Shea, Olivia Picard and Joycelyn Hartin; trophy: Emily Adler; and jackets: Monica McLaughlin, Amber Moir, Willow Whitten and Alexis Rodriguez.

Coach Marc Weeks presented awards to the following members of the varsity golf team: letters: Brady Miller and Karson Albert; and jacket: Gabe Rand.

Coach Matt Caron presented letters to the following members of the boys JV soccer team: Ari Plante, Logan Cheplic, Ethan Albair, Dakota Yakel, Ryan Austin, Brian Newell, Carter Belanger, Cody Waldermarson, LeRoy Gardiner, Alex Ring, Jeremy Bolen, Tanner Prashaw, Brevin Barnes, Alden Wilcox and Miles Collier.
