WASHBURN, Maine — The American Legion Post 48, Boy Scout Troop 177 and the Rotary Club of Washburn invite all veterans and area citizens to a ribbon cutting of the recently completed veterans park.
The Washburn Area Veterans Memorial Park will open officially at 1 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 11, rain or shine.
A hot dog roast will follow the ceremony, after which the annual flag retirement will take place for those flags that are soiled, worn, torn, faded or otherwise no longer fit to display.
