PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — The Presque Isle Rehab and Nursing Center has a new administrator, Mark McKenna, who joins a team that includes a relatively new director of nursing, Becky Searles.
McKenna, who is originally from Mapleton, began work leading the rehab and nursing center on Nov. 5. The Presque Isle Rehab and Nursing Center is owned by the Cyr family and operated under the Caribou Rehab and Nursing Center.
McKenna is a social worker by training and has worked in nursing homes both as a social worker and administrator. Most recently, he was administrator of the St. Andrews Village in Boothbay Harbor and he also has worked at the Maine Veterans’ Homes.
“I’ve been a multi-level administrator since 2005 and started my social work career back in 1990,” McKenna said. “I’ve served in both capacities in nursing homes and home care.”
McKenna will be working closely with, among other leaders, Searles, a registered nurse who has been director of nursing since February. A certified wound nurse and charge nurse, Searles has worked in both the Caribou and Presque Isle facilities.
