Bank helps kids go to camp

HOULTON, Maine — Camp CaPella recently received $450 from funds raised by employees of a local community bank.

“Once a month Katahdin Trust employees from our northern Maine, Greater Bangor and Portland area offices can participate in our Casual Because We Care program,” said Krista Putnam, senior vice president, marketing.

“Camp CaPella provides children and adults with disabilities a summer program filled with recreational activities and lots of fun. Our employees were very pleased to contribute to such a worthwhile organization.”

Katahdin Trust employees can donate a minimum of $1 to dress casually every second Friday to support various non-profit organizations throughout Maine.

“Camp CaPella never turns away a camper based on ability to pay,” said Heidi Riggs, camp director.  “Donations like this, from the employees of Katahdin Trust, can help fill that void. And the support from local businesses means so much to all of us at camp.”
