PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — The board of directors of the Aroostook Agency on Aging held their 45th annual meeting at the Caribou Inn and Convention Center on Friday, Oct. 12, 2018. More than 125 members of the Aroostook County community attended.
Thirty-six employees were recognized at the meeting for their years of service, including Sharon Berz for 42 years of service.
Other employees recognized for over 20 years of service included: Dottie Sines (32 years), Tamara Cote (31 years), Aline Dube (30 years), Julie Doody (28 years), Carl Sjoberg (27 years), and Lois Flewelling (21years).
Those recognized for 20 years of service included: Polly Brayall, Carleen Elliot, and Laurie Fisher.
Fifteen-year award recipients included: Nola Berube, Laureen Carlisle, Kathy Ledger, Emilien Picard, and Sharon Soucy.
Russell Bouchard and Nancy McBreairty received recognition of 10 years of service and Diana Clark and Barbara Deschaine received five-year awards.
The following employees were celebrated for joining the Aroostook Agency on Aging and completing their first year of service: Heidi Bartley, Judy Brown, Wendy Emery, Priscilla Glass, Candy Gough, Jennifer Griffin, Tracy Lebel, Jeannette Martin, Tammy Nadeau, Monica Nicknair, Jenny Pelletier, Valerie Philbrick, Jessica Savoie, Tammy Silliboy, Angie Turner and Brent Turner.
A non-profit serving Aroostook County since 1972, the Aroostook Agency on Aging’s mission is to improve the quality of life, maximize the independence and promote the well-being of older people in northern Maine. It does this through programs and services for older adults and individuals with disabilities focused on food assistance, transportation, elder care, caregiver support, and health insurance counseling.
