PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — Presque Isle city councilors proclaimed Nov. 14, as Presque Isle High School Soccer Teams Day during their meeting that day. In addition, councilors extended formal congratulations to both teams, for their hard work and dedication for the 2018 season.
Members of the coaching staff and several players on both teams attended the meeting.
“This proclamation was well deserved since the boys’ varsity team won the MPA Soccer Class B State Championship for the first time in school history and the girls’ varsity were the MPA Soccer Class B State Runners-Up,” said City Manager Martin Puckett. “The city and the entire community are very proud of the student athletes. City councilors were therefore very happy to join parents, school administrators and educators at Presque Isle High School in expressing their pride in these kids who successfully balanced schoolwork and other extracurricular activities to excel in their sport.”
