PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — The Presque Isle Future Farmers of America Chapter held a food drive to benefit the GIFT food pantry during the first two weeks in November.

GIFT, the Grace Interfaith Food Table, feeds approximately 36 needy families in the community each week. The Presque Isle FFA chapter was able to collect 405 individual food items from the homerooms of Presque Isle High School to donate to this worthy cause.

Presque Isle High School teacher Leilani Mortland’s homeroom donated the most items, with a total of 136, and was rewarded with a donut and juice party. Presque Isle FFA officers Colby Buckley (president), Sydney Kinney (vice president), Izzy Higgins (treasurer) and Rheanna Ortman (sentinel) delivered the food items to Charlene Buzza at GIFT.
