FRANCENE M HANINGTON, HOULTON, DANFORTH – Francene M. Hanington, 84, passed away peacefully after a battle with cancer, on November 18, 2018 at Gardiner Health Care with her daughter and son-in-law by her side. She was born on February 2, 1934 in Prentiss, ME. The last few years she lived in Brookton with her daughter, then a year ago she lived at Gardiner. My mom loved her family, she so enjoyed her great-great grandson Cameron.
Her surviving family members are her only daughter, Sandra Shain and her favorite son-in-law Russell, her granddaughters Regine Shain Lee, Stacie L. McGowan, her great granddaughters Jamie Lee, Ashley McGowan, Jaydon McGowan, and great-great grandson Cameron. She also leaves a favorite sister-in-law, Hazel Hanington of Wytopitlock, as well as nieces and nephews.
A special thank you to the caregivers of Gardiner, they were fantastic with mom, whom she loved very much. Also to all the nurses and staff, thank you all from the bottom of our hearts. Thanks Jen for staying with us to the end. In case I forgot to mention anyone, thank you so much for caring.
Fly high my dear mother with the angels. Your special in-laws and your mom & dad were waiting. We will love and miss you dearly.
Arrangements by Clay Funeral Home. There will be a private gathering at the cemetery in the summer in Danforth. No funeral will be held.
