RUDOLPH (PIT) J. RAYMOND, ISLAND FALLS – Rudolph (Pit) J. Raymond, died at the age of 87 on November 7, 2018 in Presque Isle at the House of Comfort with his family by his side. He was born the son of Peter and Mary Jane Saucier Raymond on July 31, 1931 in Island Falls.
Rudolph moved to Meriden, Connecticut when he was 18 years old. For the first few years there, he worked as many as 3 jobs at a time until he eventually landed a job with Bowman Tree Surgeons which lasted until his retirement. He lived in Meriden, Connecticut for 49 years and moved back to Island Falls upon his retirement.
Rudolph is survived by the love of his life, Merlyne Ryan, with whom he shared many happy memories including dancing, singing, joking, & playing cards. His siblings: Jeannette Prescott, Rodney & Brenda Raymond, and Gloria Slauenwhite. Merlyne’s children: Liz & Jeff, Kathy & Dennis, Mary & James, and Brent. His children from a previous marriage: Belinda & Pat, Brent & Janice, Denise, Rick & Glenda, and Penny & Dave and 2 step children: Cheryl, and Chuck. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Lisa.
He was predeceased by his parents, a sister, Regina McManus, and a brother, Albert J. Raymond.
Services will be announced at a later date & time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Houlton Humane Society or the Aroostook House of Comfort in care of Bowers Funeral Home.
