A Washburn native has been named North Atlantic Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for the week ending Nov. 18.
Kenzie Worcester, a senior guard at Husson University, scored 42 points and added 10 assists, five rebounds and two steals in two contests during the Brandeis Invitational held Friday, Nov. 16, and Saturday, Nov. 17, in Massachusetts.
In Friday’s game, Worcester poured in 30 points in a loss to Western Connecticut University. She was 6 for 6 from the foul line and contributed three assists.
On Saturday, in a victory over Rivier College, she tallied 12 points to go along with five rebounds, seven assists and a steal.
Worcester is a 2015 graduate of Washburn District High School. As a high school player, her Beaver squads won four consecutive Class D state championships. She and is the daughter of Larry and Kim Worcester.
