On Nov. 3, Houlton United Methodist Church hosted a traditional meal of Brenda’s famous baked beans, hot dogs, potato salad and desserts. A new tradition was also begun with Korean BBQ prepared by many willing cooks. Many cheerful volunteers and eager youth served this well attended community supper. The Houlton and Hodgdon United Methodist Churches joined together in this mission project to provide hurricane relief for the most recent hurricane victims of Florence and Michael in our southern states. All proceeds go through the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR). UMCOR is the humanitarian relief and development arm of the United Methodist Church. One hundred percent of contributions designated by donors to an Advance Special account number go directly to the designated programs of UMCOR.
