Halfway Home Pet Rescue Pet of the Week – Week of November 28, 2018

These two calico females, Shelly and Sierra, came to Halfway Home Pet Rescue this past summer as feral cats each with a litter of kittens. Their kittens have all been adopted and the 2 mommas have been spayed and are now ready to go to a good quiet home with no young children. Sierra will approach you and rub against your legs to thank you for caring for her, but she will not allow you to pick her up and a quick pat is all she can trust at this point. Shelly is fine to be around you but does not yet approach to ask for any loving and will move away and try to hide. The two sisters are quite bonded and they will need a home that has the patience to allow them time to adjust and learn to trust in your friendship. They are great mousers and very clean about their environment. It is expected that these two girls would ask you to let them learn trust at their own rate of progress. After a winter of living inside a house, they would probably be capable of being inside/outside cats and would do especially well on a small farm. These are beautiful young girls and with time we expect they will adjust to a new human in their life. The 2nd Chance Thrift Store is to hold an Open House on December 8 from 10 to 4 pm. As well as some beautiful new bargains the volunteers will offer a delightful array of homemade cookies and punch for their shoppers. All profits at the store are used for the Halfway Home Pet Rescue, a license state pet rescue, 501c3 federal non-profit, medical vet bills.
