Portland Glass Company van fails to stop at intersection, strikes passing vehicle

PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — A Portland Glass Company employee drove a company van through a stop sign on Academy Street in Presque Isle Wednesday evening and struck an SUV, according to local police.

Aaron Kenneson, 33, of Mapleton was driving the 2013 Ford E-250 van around 5 p.m. when he failed to stop on Academy Street at the intersection of Fleetwood Street. He struck a 2002 Ford Explorer driven by Daniel Bosse, 63, of Presque Isle, who was travelling westbound on Academy Street.

Members of the Presque Isle Fire and Ambulance service transported a female passenger in the Ford Explorer to Northern Light A.R. Gould Hospital to be treated for injuries that police said were not life threatening.

No other injuries were reported and no charges have been filed in connection with the accident, according to Cpl. Lucas Hafford of the Presque Isle Police Department.
