WASHINGTON, D.C. — Rep. Jared Golden announced on Jan. 9 the hiring of key staff members to serve in his Maine and D.C. offices.
Golden was sworn in last week and has opened offices in Caribou, Lewiston and Washington, D.C.
The congressman hired several staff members, including Fort Fairfield resident Barbara Hayslett as district representative and casework director, along with Kim Rohn of Caribou as senior constituent services representative.
“I’ve always believed service means putting people first and getting the job done,” said Golden. “The staff we’ve put together to serve Maine’s second district shares these values. My team and I are ready to get to work: listening to Mainers, helping solve their problems, and putting politics aside to get things done for our state.”
Hayslett has served with three members of Congress: Reps. John Baldacci and Mike Michaud and Senator Angus King. She has extensive background managing constituent services and working in economic and community development. She has lived in Aroostook County for more than 25 years.
Rohn previously served for four years as regional representative for Rep. Bruce Poliquin and before that as senior caseworker for Sen. Olympia Snowe for eight years. She has also worked for the Department of Health and Human Services as an eligibility specialist. The daughter of an Air Force veteran, she has a passion for helping fellow veterans and volunteers as an armed forces volunteer engagement lead for Red Cross Services.
Other recent hires include Gaetan Davis, scheduler; Eric Kanter, legislative director;
Morgan Pottle Urquhart, district representative; and Nick Zeller, communications director. The new hires join Chief of Staff Aisha Woodward and District Director Margaret Reynolds as key members of Golden’s team.
