PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — Zippel Elementary School students in grades 3-5 participate in physical fitness testing during physical education classes every fall under teacher Monica Bearden.

Events include the mile run, the shuttle run, pull-ups, push-ups, flexed arm hang, sit-ups and the V-sit and reach.

Students placing first in their grade level in one or more events were Leah Bard, Peyton Boinske, Charli Casavant, Cruze Casavant, Mallory Cronin, Kilian Deschaine, Duke Deschene, Aaden Dyer, Jakob Estey, Jovian Graham, Quinn Graves, Libby Greenlaw, Enitza Guzman, McGuire Hall, MacKenzie Hallett, Josh Harvell, Jenna Holmes, Samuel Jencks, Jack LaPlante, Ben Langley, Gavin LeTourneau, Desiree Louis, Wyatt Manning Harris, Finn Mosher, Aiden Ouellette, Kayden Pinette, Naomi Rice, David Shaw, Mia Shaw, Vincent Sonesath, Ben Waugh and Kylan Wilcox.
