Basketball conference announces stat leaders

The Big East Conference released its list of individual basketball statistical leaders for games reported through Jan. 18.

For boys, Jonah Hudson of Presque Isle leads the league in scoring average at 20.3 points per game. Parker Deprey of Caribou is fourth at 18.4 ppg and teammate Austin Findlen is sixth with a 13.2 ppg clip. Caleb Wheaton of the Wildcats is eighth, averaging 12.2 ppg.

Alex Bouchard of Caribou is first in assists, averaging 5.6 per contest. Hudson is fifth with 3.7 per game. Viking teammates Findlen (3.4) and Sawyer Deprey (3.1) are eighth and ninth, respectively.

Parker Deprey averages 8.1 rebounds per game, good for seventh in the conference.

Findlen has the second best 3-point field goal percentage in the Big East at 48.3 percent. Hudson is sixth at 36.7 percent.

In the steals category, Parker Deprey is second at 2.1 per game and Findlen and PI’s Jason Dumais are tied for third at 2 per game.

Hudson is fifth in free throw percentage as he is shooting at a 67.6 percent clip. Parker Deprey is 10th at 62.1 percent.

In two-point field goal percentage, Caribou has four players in the top 10. Findlen is third (60.6 percent), Parker Deprey fourth (59.7), Bouchard seventh (57.1) and Isaac Marker ninth (54.7).

On the girls’ side, Faith Sjoberg of Presque Isle is sixth at 12.2 ppg.

Alexis Rodriguez of Caribou is fifth in assists at 2.7 per game and the Wildcats’ Madison Michaud is sixth at 2.6.

Caribou’s Taylor Skidgel is sixth in rebounding average at 7.6 per contest.

Sjoberg is ninth in 3-point field goal percentage as she is shooting 33 percent.

Rodriguez is second in steals, averaging 3.3 per game. Michaud is sixth at 3.1.

Caribou teammates Taylor LaBreck and Abbi Robbins are fourth and fifth, respectively, in free throw percentage. LaBreck is at 65.5 percent and Robbins is at 64 percent.

LaBreck is third in the conference in two-point percentage at 49.1 percent.
