Limestone officials accept new town manager’s contract

LIMESTONE, Maine — Limestone’s Select Board officially accepted newly hired Town Manager Elizabeth Dickerson’s contract during a Feb. 20 meeting.

While two members of the five person board were absent during the meeting, Selectmen Chris Durepo, Walt Elliott, and Fred Pelletier all signed and accepted her contract.

The board actually hired Dickerson on Dec. 21 and she’s been on the job for more than a month.

“Congratulations,” said Durepo, who was acting chairman in Tom Albert’s absence on Wednesday. “With three signatures it’s even more official.”

Dickerson laughed and thanked the board. Pelletier then suggested including information about the current board and town manager for a time capsule that will be created for the town’s sesquicentennial this year.

Dickerson’s hiring ended a year-long period during which the town did not have a permanent manager and operated with a few interim leaders. She moved from Colorado to Limestone on Jan. 10 and began her work as town manager the following day.
