WOODLAND, Maine — Woodland was among dozens of Aroostook County communities left to deal with nearly a foot of snow coupled with high winds, that caused drifts which left many roadways down to one lane throughout the week.
Crews are working to widen the roadways, but the process may take a couple weeks, according to Woodland Highway Department officials.
They indicated Friday that the main priority throughout the week was to ensure that emergency vehicles such as fire trucks, ambulances, and police cruisers could reach any residents if needed.
While portions of some roads in town were temporarily down to one lane, no Woodland roads were closed during the week.
