HOULTON, Maine — Savory soups and spiritual sustenance are features of the five weekly ecumenical Lenten Luncheons beginning Wednesday, March 13, sponsored by the Southern Aroostook Ministerial Association (SAMA).
All are invited for food and fellowship on Wednesdays from 12 noon to 12:45 p.m.
The ecumenical Lenten luncheon schedule includes the following Wednesdays.
March 13: St. Mary’s Church of the Visitation (Catholic).
March 20: Church on the Hill / Military Street Baptist.
March 27: Houlton United Methodist Church.
April 3: Church of the Good Shepherd (Episcopal), Watson Hall.
April 10: Salvation Army.
All are welcome also to the following SAMA Services and Breakfast during Holy Week:.
Friday, April 19: Good Friday Service, 12 noon to 1 p.m., Church of the Good Shepherd.
Sunday, April 21: Easter Sunrise Service, 6:30 a.m., St. Mary’s Porch, followed by breakfast at the Unitarian Church, hosted by the Congregational and Unitarian congregations.
All these events are free. All donations will be given to the Salvation Army Fuel Fund.
