PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — Sarah Duncklee of Kearny, Arizona had an outstanding week of softball on the Owls “Southern Swing” to kick off the 2019 season and was honored as the North Atlantic Conference Player of the Week.

Duncklee, a junior infielder hit, .447 going 17-of-38 on the week which consisted of 10 games in South Carolina and two games in Massachusetts. She had a slugging percentage of .694, hitting three doubles, two triples, and a home run.
Duncklee tallied 20 RBI including 10 against Mass Maritime on Sunday afternoon, while crossing the plate herself for the Owls 13 times during the week. She also had four stolen bases.
Defensively, Duncklee recorded 23 putouts, 26 assists, and had a .980 fielding percentage on 50 total chances in the shortstop position for the Owls.
The UMPI softball team went (8-4) on the early trip.
