HOULTON, Maine — The following activities will be offered to Houlton area youth in April at the Gentle Memorial Building.
A “Cute as a Bunny” Easter Party will be held on Saturday, April 6, from 9:30-11 a.m. Toddlers through Grade 5 are invited to attend this event. The party will include games, crafts, snack and of course a visit from the Easter Bunny. The cost for the event is $3 per child and parents must accompany their child. The Vacation Fun Program begins Tuesday, April 16, with a “Paint and Popcorn” event; on Wednesday, April 17, there will be a “Sports Morning”; and on Thursday, April 18, there will be a “Slime and Lego” event. Times for each morning session for these events will be Grades Pre-kindergarten-2 from 8:30-10 a.m.; Grades 3-5 from 10-11:30 a.m. The cost is $3 per session per child. Registration is required with a minimum of 10 and a maximum of 18 children per day. To register, call 532-1310 by April 11.
A “Red Cross Babysitters Course” will be held on Thursday, April 18, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Youth between the ages of 11-15 can be certified in this Red Cross Course. The cost is $50 and this class is limited to the first 12 students to register. (Minimum of six participants to offer the class). Participants must bring their own lunch and drink. Here is a great opportunity to get the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to take care of infants and children. To register, call 532-1310 by April 11.
The April vacation Gym and gameroom will be open Saturday, April 13, through Saturday, April 20, from 1-4 p.m. The Rec will be closed on April 21 for Easter. The facility has a gym, pool tables, ping pong tables, bubble hockey, air hockey, foosball, and many board games. Youth must be in grades 2-12 to attend these open times.
