AUGUSTA, Maine — Governor Janet Mills directed that the United States and State of Maine flags be flown at half-staff statewide immediately for the remainder of today, April 3, 2019, in honor of a Maine State Trooper who was struck and killed in the line of duty this morning in a crash on Interstate 95 in Hampden.
Mills has also directed that the flags be lowered on the day of the trooper’s funeral service. An additional flag notice will be sent after the date of the service is announced.
The governor will also issue a statement later today following a State Police press conference, likely to be held at 3 p.m., at the state police barracks in Bangor to provide additional details of the crash and the identity of the trooper.
